What to Consider in Home Theatre Accessories
If you’ve already purchased your home theatre system, you’ll want some accessories and components to complement it.
Cabinets, headphones, remote controls or those add-on boxes that promise better-than-movie-theatre audio are available, for a price. A universal remote controller will likely be your first purchase.
This will eliminte the clutter of remotes that come with individual components. There are many priced under $100 and some decent models for $50 or less. You’ll want a remote that has the ability to “learn” your equiment and it’s components by reading the button presses on the original remote.
This feature should access a list of manufacturers that allows you to program by pressing the appropriate key-button. “Ergonomically correct” buttons will allow you to arrange the buttons so you don’t have to hunt for them each time you use them.
Once your universal remote is programmed to your specifications, you’ll find it easy to use and it will eliminate clutter and save space. You might consider head-phones, cabinets, add-on audio devices and a long list of accessories flooding the market.
Customising your home theatre is a process that must conform to your budget and your taste. But universal remotes offer easy access to your system and you’ll probably find them to be the most useful of the accessories you will consider as you personalize your home theatre system.
Fortunately, they are also usually the least-expensive accessory available to the new home theatre owner, so start your search for add-ons with a good unit that fits your budget.
