The Comfort Factor of a Home Theatre – The Home Theatre Chair

It doesn’t matter much how expensive your equipment or your video and sound quality, if you can’t enjoy the movie or program comfortably.

If you’re trying to emulate the movie-theatre experience when you purchased your home theatre, you’ll be happy to find you can improve on the experience with a comfortable chair that will be far superior than what you’re used to at a movie theatre. (You can also make sure there is never gum stuck to the bottom, or food stains on the upholstery).

Remember that two hours on a too-soft sofa or an uncomfortable chair can detract from your experience. If you’re a solo viewer of most of your selections, find a chair that supports your back while offering some reclining comfort.

Sitting in an upright position during a lengthy movie can become tiresome and uncomortable. The chair that use for working on your computer, for instance, may not be ideal for getting the most out of your home theatre.

Space and budget considerations may determine what sort of seating your theatre will have, but if you’re looking to maximize your viewing experience, put some thought, and perhaps some money into the effort.

Allow for movement of the audience without crowding. Check for the optimum spots for sound quality and arrange seating to conform to them.

If you expect a crowd on the weekends, for instance, consider portable or storable chairs that can be removed when your audience leaves, and arranged to maximize the video and sound qualities you’ve paid for.

You, your family and friends, will get the most out of your home theatre if the seating accomodates everyone comfortably without loss of reproduction quality or comfort.

Remember there is only so much optimum space for sound and video reproduction quality, so your seating will have to be thought out to accomodate the size of your audience. If you’ve got a budget for seating you’ll find upgrading seating to be a worthwhile investment in the home theatre experience.
